HSBC
HSBC Insurance Brokers (HIBL) has announced a number of management changes. Graham Puttergill, previously chairman and managing director, is appointed executive chairman. He will focus on external relationships and the London market wholesale and reinsurance divisions. Mike Dixon, previously finance director, becomes managing director focusing primarily on the retail businesses Simon Harrap retires from the board but remains chairman of the North American division. Gary Andrew, managing director of the North American division, is appointed a director of HIBL. Richard Sheehan retires from the board but remains chairman of the financial institutions division, while Keith Jones, managing director of the financial institutions division, is appointed HIBL director. Peter Newnham, the managing director of the schools division, is appointed a director of HIBL, as is Carol Ranger, managing director of the insurance marketing division. Chris Gayler, becomes director of compliance and Chris Burr is director of finance.

Layton Blackham
Maloo Patel, group marketing executive at Layton Blackham, has added the post graduate diploma in marketing to her Masters degree achieved in 1985. The qualification underlines the company's commitment to quality and investment in its staff.

Willis
Caroline Collard has been appointed Willis' first marketing and communications director. Collard, who was previously with Pearl Assurance, will be responsible for the development and delivery of the marketing communications strategy including brand management, advertising, internal and external communications, media relations, sponsorship, community investment and public affairs.

INSURERS
Ecclesiastical
John Beeton has been appointed motor fleet manager at Ecclesiastical Insurance Group. Beeton started his career in the Lloyd's motor market in 1962, rising to director level and underwriting all classes of motor insurance. Based at the head office in Gloucester and a branch office in East Grinstead, he will be responsible for future strategy and development of the existing Ecclesiastical portfolio. He will also maintain a broker desk in the London market.

Bib
Andrew Spencer has been appointed underwriting supervisor at Bib. He will work with the Darlington-based firm's dedicated farm insurance team.

LLOYD'S
RJ Kiln
Edward Creasy has been appointed managing director of RJ Kiln. He was formerly managing director of Cassidy Davis. Also, Jeff Kilpatrick becomes deputy chairman and will remain finance director until his proposed retirement in June.

Wellington
Nigel Guillaume-Smith has been appointed to lead a new team recruited by Wellington to raise the profile of Syndicate 2020 in the accident and health reinsurance sector. Frances Stewart will be his deputy and Clive Hatto is expected to join soon. The team will underwrite a broad portfolio comprising direct and reinsurance business internationally.

BMS Group
Duncan Aitken, Simon Clutterbuck, Robin Greville Williams and Steve Langford have been promoted to the board of Ballantyne McKean and Sullivan, the founding company of the BMS Group. In a separate move, John Spencer has been appointed chief operating officer.

LOSS ADJUSTERS
Miller Pycraft
Among several promotions at Miller Pycraft Graeme Bell and Gary Liptrot have been made advanced development directors and appointed to the UK executive board. Graeme Shurben, service centre manager at Newcastle, Colin Farley and Peter Taylor from the specialist investigations division and Mike Roberts from the commercial and applied technology division have all been made directors. Mark Griffiths, head of the subsidence and surveying division, and Nick Anderson, Darren Coombes and Steve Dolman service centre managers at Chelmsford, Cardiff and Liverpool respectively have been promoted to the position of associate directors.

TECHNOLGOY
Eurobase
Edwin Rogers has been appointed to the position of personnel director at Eurobase. He will be responsible for resource planning, deployment of staff, recruitment, training and administrative support.

Affinity Solutions
Steve Rose has been appointed associate director at marketing consultancy Affinity Solutions. Rose, who previously spent 12 years in various management positions at Prudential, will be heading the consulting team based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
