New chief executive creates commercial and personal divisions; announces staff changes.

Adrian Brown, the recently appointed chief executive of RSA, has announced a number of senior staff changes and the restructuring of the business into two divisions – commercial and personal.

Brown has taken the business’s three units – broker, retail and affinity – down to two. Commercial will effectively take over from the broker unit, and will be run by Paul Donaldson. The personal division will be run by Mike Holliday-Williams, who will also have responsibility for marketing across the whole business. Gordon Henderson, strategy and marketing director, will be leaving RSA.

Neil Lightbown will join RSA from Zurich Financial Services in 2009 after a period of gardening leave, as underwriting director. Julie Hopes, currently managing director affinity, will become operations director within RSA's International Business effective from 1 December.

Adrian Brown, UK chief executive since September said: "The changes I've made to my senior team are designed to simplify our structure and give clearer focus and accountability.

"Neil Lightbown has extensive experience across both personal and commercial lines and I'm delighted that he is joining RSA. I'd also like to thank Julie and Gordon for the significant contributions they have made to the UK business and wish them well in the future."
