Departing interim chief to pursue other opportunities in Asia

Outsourcing firm Capita Insurance Services’ interim general insurance head Wayne Lewis is leaving the company.

A Capita spokeswoman confirmed Lewis’s departure  and said he was leaving to “pursue other interests in Asia”.

The revelation of Lewis’s departure comes just over six months after he suceeeded previous general insurance chief Brent Escott on an interim basis in late July 2012.

Escott also left after a little over six months in the role.

After Lewis’s departure, Andrew Beer will continue to head Capita Insurance Services’ commercial insurance arm, while Tony Page, managing director of Capita Specialist Insurance Solutions, will assume responsibility for Capita Insurance Services’ distribution business.

Lewis joined Capita at the beginning of July 2012 as general insurance finance director.

He joined the outsourcing firm from Zurich’s Global Corporate UK business, where he had served variously as chief executive, chief financial officer and chief operating officer over a seven-year period.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
