CGU bosses have gained the upper hand in the new board for the combined CGU and Norwich Union board.

Five out of the nine executive board members come form CGU.

But the balance will shift when CGNU's group chief executive Bob Scott will be replaced by NU's Richard Harvey in June 2001.

There are nine executive director and eight non-executive directors.

The 17 new directors are: Pehr Gyllenhammar, appointed chairman (CGU); George Paul, appointed deputy chairman (NU); Bob Scott, appointed group chief executive (CGU); Richard Harvey, appointed deputy group chief executive ( NU); Peter Foster, appointed group finance director (CGU); Philip Scott, appointed group executive director responsible for UK Life (NU); Mike Biggs, appointed group executive director responsible for UK General (NU); Philip Twyman, appointed group executive director responsible for Asset Management Strategy and International ( CGU); Tony Wyand, appointed group executive director responsible for Continental Europe (CGU).

Non executive directors are Lyndon Bolton (CGU), Guillermo de la Dehesa, Wim Dik ( CGU), Sir Michael Partridge, Alan Perelman, Derek Stevens, Elizabeth Vallance, and Andre Villeneuve (CGU).
