The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has awarded chartered insurer status to Covéa Insurance’s commercial lines and high net worth business.

Covéa said over half of the company’s commercial lines and high net worth management team are qualified as chartered insurers and 90% of its customer-facing team are active CII members, and are committed to continuing development through a professional development programme.

The company recently completed its integration of high net worth insurer Sterling, which it acquired in early 2015.

Covéa commercial lines and high net worth director Simon Cooter (pictured) said: “Gaining chartered insurer status was an important strategic objective for our commercial and high net worth business, and forms part of our programme of work to fully align the high service standards previously offered by both Covéa Insurance and Sterling Insurance, as we start 2016 as a fully integrated business”

CII chief executive Sandy Scott added: “Chartered status is recognised around the world as a mark of excellence and Covéa Insurance should be rightly proud of this achievement. Their commitment to high standards of competency is underpinned by an ethical culture and an approach to conduct that puts customers at the heart of everything they do.”
