Coversure Insurance Services, the franchise intermediary providers, has been granted membership by the General Insurance Standards Council (GISC).
GISC announced that since December 2001 over 60 companies under the Coversure franchise have been admitted into membership.
A GISC spokesman commented that when such high profile organisations became members it raised consumer awareness of regulation overall, which benefitted all its members.
The chairman of Coversure, Mark Coverdale, said that he felt membership of GISC provided the opportunity for all intermediaries to work towards eventual regulation by FSA.
