Crawford & Company has launched the Major Loss Network, a managed loss service which aims to cut the time spent on claims.

Staffed by dedicated teams in five regions, the initiative is designed to increase Crawford's share of business from Lloyd's and the London market.

The network will only handle claims worth more than £100,000.

The idea is to bring together the skills of the firm's property, liability, technical services and healthcare management divisions supported by loss adjusters. Meanwhile, in-house teams will work with preferred suppliers to manage business recovery and costs using pre-agreed rates.

Nigel Moore, head of Major Loss, said: "Our aim is to establish ourselves as the number one choice for the London market and Lloyd's, as well as for our existing corporate customers and panel insurers. To achieve this, we have developed an effective project management approach and have become more customer-focused."
