DAS said it has launched a private criminal prosecution against former chief executive Paul Asplin.
Asplin has been summoned to court on fraud charges.
The hearing is expected to take place at Westminster Magistrates Court on 8 July, although this will not be confirmed until 7 July.
Legal expenses insurer DAS also took legal action in May, filing a civil claim against Asplin and others.
The case is about Asplin’s conduct within the company.
The specialist private prosecution law firm Edmonds Marshall McMahon will represent DAS in the criminal case.
DAS suspended Asplin after an internal investigation in 2014 and appointed Andre Burke as new chief executive in February 2015.
DAS decline to comment.
