John Gorham has been appointed compliance manager at Bournemouth-based Deacon Insurance Services.
Following a two-year period at GISC Gorham will be responsible for ensuring compliance with GISC and FSA regulations.
Gorham's remit also includes the management of compliance of binding authorities with insurers, and on corporate guidelines for Turnbull.
Managing Director Neil Williams said: "John brings over 20 years' experience in the insurance industry incorporating a number of senior management positions and we are delighted to have obtained his skills.
"The emphasis on compliance in the general insurance market is rapidly increasing - with FSA regulation coming into force in the next two years the challenge has never been greater.
