NIG has been dealt a huge blow by Charles Earle, the company's former managing director of commercial lines, who has recruited a raft of its executives to join his start-up, Arista.
In total Earle has sourced nine of his 10-strong core management team from NIG. This latest grab includes: Peter Young, head of business operations; Jeff Chappell, head of broker development; Alan Horemans, head of motor underwriting; Simon Henderson, head of schemes underwriting; and Dave Cheeseman, head of business systems.
In August Insurance Times revealed that four NIG managers were to join Arista following the appointment of former NIG manager Lyn Carslake as deputy chief executive.
Earle said: "This team brings together enormous strength and experience and puts Arista in an excellent position to start trading next month."
It is understood further staff will be recruited from AXA and Royal & SunAlliance.
