Ecclesiastical has appointed ecommerce insurance solutions provider edge IPK’s edgeConnect platform to upgrade its online presence.

The User Experience Platform (UXP) will integrate the insurer’s policy administration system, significantly increasing the company’s speed to market.

edgeConnect will also provide new multi-channel distribution capabilities, with the first channel being Ecclesiastical’s brokers.

The solution is integrated to Ecclesiastical’s Insure Plus (I+) Administration System. This has allowed Ecclesiastical to achieve a return on previous investments while benefiting in the short-term from rapid delivery of engaging user experiences.

Ecclesiastical’s IT director Mike Burnupsaid: “Ecclesiastical has a long-term vision of becoming a fully web-enabled business and using edge IPK allows us to exploit our back-office investment through their proven integration approach.  edge IPK has provided us with a User Experience Platform that not only enables us to enhance the user experience for our customers but also enables us to get products to market at a speed which gives us a  significant competitive advantage.”

edge IPK chief executive Mike Williams said: “User experience is such a key differentiator for insurance companies. Many Insurers have legacy platforms that cannot provide an on-line user experience to customers, are costly to replace, yet are actually still fit for purpose as back office administration systems. This is a great example of how you can take a top down approach to solve a legacy issue and further demonstrates edgeConnect’s ability in delivering agile front end solutions that provide enhanced user experiences, whatever the channel, device or user, as part of legacy modernisation.”
