The Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Company (ECIC) has launched a new underwriting arm, Facilitas, specialising in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) market.
The Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Company (ECIC) is expanding its operations with the launch of a specialist underwriting division focusing on the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) market.
The service will be available exclusively via insurance brokers, through the Facilitas internet-based cover and quotation system for package insurance.
It focuses on providing policy cover for businesses such as shops, bars, restaurants, take-away outlets, beauty salons, guesthouses, small offices and commercial property owners of similar premises.
Martin Duffield, Facilitas business development manager, said: “The Facilitas offering is the result of extensive development effort and considerable research among brokers. The web-based system can take the broker from enquiry to completed policy documentation in minutes, and this ease of use represents a real saving to brokers in terms of time, and therefore handling costs.”
Bill Adamson, managing director of ECIC, added: “We are delighted to have acquired the Facilitas team, who bring considerable experience of the SME sector. This represents a further diversification of the products offered by our ECInsurance group. Facilitas is uniquely fast, and is already in great demand from our broker partners.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
