Equity Insurance Group has appointed Richard Brewster as finance director with immediate effect. He has held the role on an interim basis since August 2006.
Richard Brewster was finance director at Cox Insurance Holdings, Equity's previous owner, between 1997 and 2002. Prior to joining Cox, he was finance director at Mercantile and General Reinsurance, overseeing its sale to Swiss Re in 1996.
He will continue as non-exec chairman at Argenta Syndicate Management and as a director of IT company, Columba Systems.
Equity CEO, Neil Utley said: "Richard's valuable experience of our business, combined with a detailed knowledge of the UK insurance industry, make him the logical choice for the role."
