It is always a pleasure to watch top class cricketers at the peak of their game. Unfortunately, for one legend of the English game, his cricket skills seem to have somewhat deserted him over the years.
At the launch of Brit’s Manchester trading floor last week, Mike Gatting, or Fat Gatt as he is known to friends, mingled with brokers and plucked up the courage to pick up the bat one more time and try his hand at a virtual cricket game.
It must have seemed like a good idea at the time, but Gatt struggled to recapture the form from his early days, and left with his head in his hands and just three runs to his name.
Still, the wine and snacks seemed to go down well.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
