Backchat was intrigued to see John McFall MP having coffee at the Starbucks store in the Lloyd's building last week.
McFall, who was re-elected on 5 May to the West Dunbartonshire constituency with a resounding majority, is seemingly gearing himself up for another term as chairman of the Treasury Select Committee.
Could his caffeine tête-à-tête prove correct the pre-election gossip that he is about to launch an inquiry into the Lloyd's market?
And could chief executive Nick Prettejohn be hauled in front of the select committee to be told, like the FSA's John Tiner, that he's "sleeping on the job"?
On the other hand perhaps the Starbucks coffee at Lloyd's is just far superior to the brew served at Portcullis House.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
