Folgate has acquired Kettering-based broker Adams Tingle (Insurances) Ltd.
Its acqusition of the Northamptonshire business will see it establish a new hub in the central region.
Adams Tingle, which controls £15m of mainly commercial premium, is Folgate's thirty sixth buy, and brings its total premium to £505m.
Folgate said the Adams Tingle management team of Tony Robbs, Peter Robinson and Michael Dunford would continue to lead the fifty one-strong staff.
Folgate executive chairman Peter Cullum confirmed that Folgate was in "advanced stages of negotiation with a number of other brokers".
