The former UKGI boss has left Zurich after almost 10 years

Zurich’s former UKGI boss Conor Brennan has left the insurer after almost 10 years.

Brennan ceased to be UKGI chief executive in early 2017, when he moved from the role to head up Zurich’s new retail insurance unit.

Before coming to the UK to take on the UKGI chief executive role in 2016, he was Zurich’s Ireland GI chief executive.

He will now be returning to Ireland.

Brennan’s departure follows a major UK shakeup at the insurer, which yesterday announced its plans to move its underwriting bases and target expansion in the North.

A spokesperson from Zurich commented: “Yes, can confirm that Conor has decided to leave after almost a decade with Zurich. And, while it’s always a shame to see great people go, we wish him the very best in his new role back at home in Ireland. I know he’s really enjoyed the UK market engagement and trading with key brokers here.”
