The General Insurance Standards Council (GISC) has discussed regulation processes at a meeting with the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

GISC chief executive Chris Woodburn said small practitioners' committee chairman Simon Bolam had discussed how the group could contribute to the statutory regulation process.

Woodburn said the committee had decided its primary objective was to work with the FSA to provide smaller businesses with support, advice and assistance.

This would ensure they were compliant with FSA regulation when it came into force, he said.

The GISC released this information in its fourth bulletin to members last week.
