Giles has appointed Sean Finnegan as an executive director responsible for its operations in London and South England, as well as Giles' speciality businesses.

Finnegan joins after 25 years at Marsh, where his roles included national director for UK speciality businesses.

Towry Law
Barbara Valentine has joined Towry Law as a senior account handler in its corporate general insurance team.

Valentine previously worked for six years at Aon in Reading.

John Eke & Partners
Kevin Saunders has recently returned to John Eke & Partners after 12 years at Aon in Bristol.

Saunders, who has over 20 years' commercial insurance experience, will be based at the company's Bridgwater office.

Fyfe
Motor trade specialist Fyfe has promoted Alan Inskip to development manager.

Inskip was previously a project manager at Fyfe.

Medisure
Medisure, Marsh's healthcare programme management arm, has appointed Rayne Ward as commercial client director.

Ward, who joins from a specialist rehabilitation service provider to insurers, has over 10 years' industry experience.

HSBC Insurance Brokers
HSBC Insurance Brokers has appointed Roger Oldham as development executive in its major risks team.

Oldham joins from Aon, where he was a director in its marine, energy and construction divisions.

Oval
Richard Wigmore has joined Oval to head up its new personal accident (PA) and travel division.

Wigmore previously ran the PA and travel arm of Stafford Knight & Co, which was subsequently acquired by Towergate.

Markerstudy
Markerstudy has appointed Andrew Coley as operations manager.

Coley joins after nine years at Churchill.

Allianz Global Risks
Allianz Global Risks has appointed Philipp Cremer as director of underwriting.

Cremer previously worked for Allianz in Germany, and was recently responsible for half of the company's casualty portfolio there. He replaces Doug Pennycuick, who is now general manager for Allianz Global Risks UK.

Zurich Municipal
Zurich Municipal has appointed Ronan Ball to the new role of head of support for single tier authorities.

Ball and his team will provide insurance and risk management services for Scottish, Welsh and English unitary councils, London boroughs and borough councils.

Ball's previous roles at Zurich include senior underwriter and manager of Zurich Municipal's Community Insurance Centre.

Premium First has appointed Terri Rowe as business development executive for South East England.

Rowe joins from Close Brothers, where she was an account manager.

Navigant Consulting
Paul Braithwaite has joined the New York office of Navigant Consulting Inc as a managing director in its financial services practice.

Braithwaite has over 10 years' reinsurance experience.

Steve Record
North East insurance group BiB has appointed Steve Record as managing director of its agricultural and rural underwriting division.

Record, who has been with the Darlington-based company for six years, steps up from his position as operations director of BiB Underwriters. He replaces company co-founder David Carter, who has retired but will remain in touch with BiB as a consultant.

Record will be responsible for BiB's underwriting business including FSA compliance, insurer relationships, financial performance and strategic planning.

He said: "It's a very exciting time to be taking up the position of managing director with huge potential for joint ventures and other major opportunities that will allow us to develop the business."

Away from work Record enjoys rugby, tennis, reading and going camping with his family.
