Towergate has made five appointments, three of them at Towergate Commercial Underwriting.
Robin Hugh becomes managing director, based in Romford. He joins from CGNU where he has worked in senior development roles in the commercial market. Tony Ellwood, who was previously associate director at PIUA, joins as professional indemnity underwriting manager. Simon Read joins as development underwriter. There are two other appointments in the group. Kevin Brown has joined Towergate Underwriting Group as managing director of the group's latest acquisition, MIA General Insurance. He was previously divisional personal lines director at Chaucer Insurance. Tony Lawrence joins the group from Allianz Cornhill as group corporate accounts manager.
Stuart Leatherby has been appointed operations director at Primary International.
He has previously worked with Domestic & General as well as Miller First Line.
NIG has made two appointments. Karl Railton is appointed product manager high group for the insurer's personal division. Paul Hubbard is appointed operations superintendent for the claims operations and customer service unit.
Graeme Auld has joined Broker Direct as motor manager. He was responsible for the launch of the GAN motor products in the early 1990s and later responsible for scheme development.
Pearl has made three appointments to its general insurance department.
Gary Britton joins as head of the marketing department, Nick White as customer segment manager, and Francis Mulhern as campaign manager.
Co-operative Insurance Society
Paul Burke joins Co-operative Insurance Society as social accountability manager.
He will be responsible for pulling together
all aspects of the Society's Social Accountability Programme.
He was previously a human resources manager with Royal & Sunalliance.
Martin Wiggins has joined Accident Group as head of business operations. He will also take on the role of head of the executive board. He was previously at CWA Claims Services, where he was sales and marketing director and responsible for new business development.
Highway Glass and Locks
Replacement and repair company Highway Glass and Locks has appointed four new regional managers and has reviewed its regional mangement structure. The four regional managers are Ian Price who covers London, Donald McNeill (Scotland), Terry Looker (south east England) and Steve White (Scotland). Claims at the company's Norwich head office are now to be dealt with by ten new teams, one for each of its client insurers.
Paul Tucker has been promoted to managing director of Audatex following the retirement of Alex Leonard. He was previously general manager of the firm for four years, and has more than 20 years' experience in senior mangement positions.
