Clive Bootham has been appointed chief executive of the combined Capel Cure Sharp (CCS) and Greig Middleton (GM) businesses at Old Mutual. He was previously managing director of Schroders' global Private Client Group. Richard Bernays has been appointed chairman of the combined businesses. He was previously acting CEO of both CCS and GM. Eric Anstee has been appointed chief executive, financial services. He was group finance director and is a member of the group executive committee of Old Mutual.
Groupama
Denis Caraher has been appointed as standards and fulfilment manager at Groupama. His role will be to support consistency of best practice and the company's “virtual operations” objective. A service expert from outside the insurance industry, he spent 22 years in the British Army and was operations manager with National Homecare/Servis Group.

Scott Nelson has been appointed as a non-executive director at broker-only firm MMA Insurance. He was previously group director of finance at Royal and SunAlliance
Swiss Reinsurance
Peter Forstmoser has been elected chairman of the board of directors at Swiss Reinsurance. He has been on the board since 1990. Rajna Gibson has been elected as a new member of the board of directors. She is a full professor of financial economics at the Swiss Banking Institute. Shareholders also re-elected George Farr for another four-year term as president.

Mike Mitchell has been appointed distribution director at Lloyds TSB Insurance. He was previously head of national sales and service for Lloyds TSB Bank.

eQuest One
Janine Bailey has been appointed marketing manager of eQuest One's UK operations. She was previously manager of publishing and communications at the insurance services business unit of Lloyd's of London.
London Processing Centre
Jane Wallace is appointed head of IT at the London Processing Centre.
She joined ILU in 1987 and remained with the company when it joined with LIRMA to form the LPC.

Insurance lawyer Mark Kendall has joined the construction and physical risks team at Reynolds Porter Chamberlain. He specialises in professional and indemnity and general liability. He joins from Davies Arnold Cooper.

Association of British Insurers
Richard Taylor has been appointed head of research at the Association of British Insurers. In the newly-created position he will develop research and statistics programmes to support the association's work. He was previously at the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Glass and Glazing Federation
Edmund du Bois has been appointed adviser to the chief executive on matters relating to home improvements at the Glass and Glazing Federation. He was previously technical director with Regency International.
Faculty of Actuaries
David Kingston has been named president of the Faculty of Actuaries in Scotland. He was vice-president from 1996. He is an associate of the Institute of Investment Management and Research, and is adjunct professor of mathematics at Trinity College, Dublin.
Institute of Actuaries
Peter Clark has been appointed president of the Institute of Actuaries in England. He is currently chief actuary and finance director of Axa Sun Life.
