Bob Beckett's network wins insurer support

Groupama is sponsoring brokers to become members of UKGI, the compliance network owned by Bob Beckett.

The French insurer will pay the membership fees of local independent brokers and in return look to generate commercial lines business.

UKGI offers compliance and regulatory support to more than 300 members. In February it helped Aviva set up Broker Independence Group (BIG), although the relationship has now ended.

Groupama head of customer proposition Lynn Harris said: “With the current financial uncertainty, brokers and their clients are looking for secure markets. This joint initiative with UKGI will give provincial brokers access to valuable support and resources at no cost, as well as the opportunity to grow their commercial insurances business working with a broker-focused insurer.”

Groupama said brokers placing business with them would get a wide range of commercial insurance products, enhanced commissions and a dedicated underwriting team.

UKGI managing director Mike Williams said the partnership would give brokers “a competitive advantage in one of the toughest economic times we have seen for decades”.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
