Groupama Insurances has secured an initial deal worth up to £1.5m to write insurance for Sky Insurance Services Group.

Sky Insurance specialises in providing cover for modified, prestige and performance cars and currently works with a small panel of specialist insurers.

Groupama Insurances is expected to write up to £1.5m in the first year of the contract, with volume expected to increase consistently over the next 3 years.

Groupama Insurances personal lines director Kevin Kiernan (pictured) said: “Independent brokers such as Sky Insurance, who have successfully carved a niche in specialist markets know that their reputation and success hinges on the quality of underwriting and expertise they can offer to policyholders.

“Groupama Insurances has proven experience in non-standard motor cover combined with a focus on meeting broker needs. This provided the perfect combination for Sky and we are delighted to be appointed as one of the insurers for their panel.”

Sky Insurance’s David Watson said: “Sky Insurance customers are largely motor enthusiasts who have come to us through car clubs and groups. As such, they expect and rightly deserve expert insurance advice and cover to meet their needs.

“Delivering on this expectation is the basis on which Sky Insurance has built its business and we demand the same level of market knowledge from our partner insurers to complement our services. Groupama’s underwriting capabilities and comprehensive account management information were key factors in our decision to appoint them to our panel of insurers. We look forward to a mutually successful relationship.”
