Broking group Global Risk Partners (GRP) has agreed not to approach, recruit or hire any staff from rival broker Bluefin until next year following the pair’s recent court battle.

Bluefin sued GRP, its broking chief executive Mike Bruce (pictured), Bluefin executives Mark Rogers and Suzanne Powell, and former Bluefin commercial unit head Neil Thornton accusing them of conspiring to poach Bluefin teams. The broker has now reached a settlement with all parties.

GRP said in a statement responding to the settlements: “Global Risk Partners Ltd, Mike Bruce, Neil Thornton and others have agreed with Bluefin Insurance Services Ltd that legal proceedings will be stayed without admission of liability.

“A commercial agreement has been reached as part of which GRP has undertaken not to approach, recruit or employ any of Bluefin’s staff until after 31 December 2016.”

The settlement details will remain confidential.
