Andrew Schütte and Neil Ellis will focus on disputes and policy wordings

Hill Dickinson has strengthened its London insurance team with the appointments of insurance and (re)insurance lawyers Andrew Schütte and Neil Ellis.

Schütte and Ellis specialise in disputes and policy wordings with a focus on property, energy, casualty, construction and engineering insurance and (re)insurance.

In their new roles both will work out of the law-firm’s Broadgate Tower office in London.

Hill Dickinson head of insurance Ruth Lawrence said: “Andrew and Neil are highly respected lawyers in their field and we are delighted to welcome them on board. This strategic double hire adds further weight to our growing London team and gives us even greater momentum as we continue to expand in the London market.”

Schütte said: “Hill Dickinson has a first-class reputation in insurance, and its London operation is the ideal platform for Neil and me to develop our practice. We believe there is a shortage of real alternatives for insurers and (re)insurers looking to instruct lawyers in the lines of business we focus on, particularly following the recent consolidations among insurance law firms.

“Combining the many years’ experience and expertise Neil and I have in this area with Hill Dickinson’s resources and all-round strength in insurance, we can offer a top-quality and competitive service to clients.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
