Netfoil will now include false identity information from the Metropolitan Police Service

Hill Dickinson Fraud Unit’s Netfoil database is to be provided with false identity information from the Metropolitan Police Service’s identity crime initiative, Amberhill.

The Amberhill dataset has abount 81,000 entries and will be exclusive to Hill Dickinson. It will contain records of counterfeit passports, national identity cards and driving licences, as well as details of fraudulently obtained genuine UK driving licences.

Detective sergeant Gavin Burton said:  “We share a common goal with Hill Dickinson Fraud Unit – to disrupt organised criminality and fraud. Netfoil represents an ideal channel with which we can make our data available to the insurance industry to assist in combating fraudsters and protecting honest policyholders from the impact of fraud.”

Hill Dickinson head of fraud Peter Oakes said: “This is a unique dataset and we are delighted that the Metropolitan Police have partnered with Hill Dickinson to provide this valuable information to the insurance industry via our Netfoil database.

“This initiative represents increased fraud prevention opportunities and associated savings for our clients, who now have access to the only database in the UK where insurers can match known compromised passport, driving licence and national identity card data against rich claimant and defendant data.”
