Specialist insurer Hiscox has announced the appointment of celebrity auctioneer Andrew Cheney to the newly created post of senior risk management surveyor.

Cheney, who has appeared on BBC's Bargain Hunt, will advise Hiscox clients on safeguarding and protecting their valuables and property.

A qualified chartered surveyor, Cheney was previously assistant vice president, senior cataloguer and auctioneer at Sotheby's in New York.

Charles Dupplin, head of Hiscox's art and private client division, said: “Andrew's appointment signifies the growing importance of risk management and valuations advice to our clients across the household business."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
