Hiscox has announced the next stage of its UK expansion plan with the opening of a new office in Manchester, increasing Hiscox's accessibility to brokers within the Northwest of England.

The office opens for business on 2 January 2007 and becomes Hiscox's ninth UK office, with the others being in Birmingham, Bristol, Colchester, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Maidenhead and Tunbridge Wells.

Cath Timberlake will continue in her role as regional manager for the North of England. Lee Turner will be the Manchester branch manager, supported by underwriters Paul Duddle and Geraldine Holding on art & private clients (APC). Underwriters Denise Mercer and Andrea Rutherford will focus on the professions & specialty commercial (PSC) products, catering for the insurance needs of professionals and smaller commercial businesses. Darren Power, development underwriter, will assist Lee Turner in business development for the office.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
