Appoints Kevin Bailey as associate director of claims division

Howden, the largest independent Lloyd’s broker specialising in business critical risks, has appointed Kevin Bailey as an associate director in its claims division.

Bailey joins Howden from Heath Lambert where he was claims manager for 2 years, responsible for providing risk management and claims advice to its national and international clients.

Bailey has handled professional indemnity Insurance claims for over 25 years. He has experience handling claims for accountants, architects, engineers, independent financial advisers, insurance brokers and surveyors. At Heath Lambert he was responsible for claims from the RIBA approved PI scheme. Prior to Heath Lambert, Bailey was claims manager for Alfred Blackmore & Co Ltd and its successor, Alexander Forbes for fifteen years.

Tim Coles commented: “Rather than viewing claims as a back-office function, we see it as the foundation of our service to our clients. It is key to ensuring they continue to benefit from our specialist liability advice and service not just at the point of selecting their broker but, more importantly, at the time when it is really needed should the worst happen and they face a claim. Our claims team is renowned for the unparalleled service it provides, and I believe it is a key contributing factor to our 95% client retention rate. We’re delighted that Kevin will be joining the team. He has excellent technical and client facing skills and considerable experience in the liability insurance sector, which will strengthen and complement the existing team.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
