US firm expands UK broking arm

Insurance brokerage firm Integro has bought Manchester-based Doodson Broking Group.

New York-based Integro, an international insurance broker and risk manager, acquired Doodson Broking Group, the entertainment and sports specialist that also provides full service commercial and private client broking services, for an undisclosed fee.

“Joining forces with Doodson enhances our reach and existing strengths in sports and entertainment, as well as our presence in UK retail broking,” said Integro president and chief executive Peter Garvey.

The deal will push Integro’s annualised revenue to more than $150m (£93m).

Doodson has offices in Manchester, London, Halifax and Austin, US.

The move for Doodson follows Integro’s recent acquisition of Frost Specialty as well as Allan, Chapman and James, a UK-based film and media broker, and gives the New York firm a larger footprint in entertainment.

In June this year Integro appointed John Sutton as chief executive and Toby Humphreys as chairman of its UK arm, Integro Insurance Brokers.
