Groupama Insurances director of motor underwriting Jack Brownhill is to retire at the end of the year after 40 years' service.

Brownhill first joined the UK Group in 1964 and has risen through the ranks, said Groupama.

His dedication to the industry was officially recognised when he received the British Insurance Awards for Underwriter of the Year in 2002.

He also collected consecutive Insurance Day awards in 2002 and 2003 in recognition of the company's fleet and private car underwriting respectively.

Brownhill will be succeeded by Andrew Goldby, the company said.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
