Le Mans Ré has appointed James Veghte as its new chief executive officer.
The company, a joint venture reinsurer formed by XL Capital and MMA in 1999, said the appointment was part of XL Capital's plan to increase its shareholding to a majority interest of 67% in Le Mans Ré.
Veghte, an American, will work alongside Charles Werner Skrzynski, who maintains his position as Chairman of Le Mans Ré.
He will remain executive vice president and general manager of the London branch of XL Re, the reinsurance subsidiary of XL Capital.
Le Mans Ré's business includes property (facultative and treaty), life and accident, motor and casualty risks.
