Zurich Financial Services has appointed Axel Lehmann to the group executive committee, as the new CEO of ZFS's Continental Europe Business Division.
The Continental Europe Business Division includes the regions of Northern Europe, Southern Europe and Switzerland. It also includes the Continental Europe Corporate (CEC) business unit.
Lehmann takes over from Peter Eckert who, in December 2001, was named as the new chief operating officer of Group Operations and Business Development.
Both appointments are take effect from 1 March 2002.
Lehmann joined ZFS in 1996. He is currently the CEO of the Northern European Region and of Zurich Group Germany. He will retain both positions.
