It's a tough life being a rock star. So Lenny Kravitz discovered when a writ arrived from a US insurer, suing him for £185,000 after a toilet in his New York apartment overflowed and damaged a neighbouring flat.

Amica Mutual Insurance claims "catastrophic water damage" was caused to his neighbour's home after Kravitz allowed the toilet to become "blocked, clogged and congested with various materials".

Backchat doubts the £185,000 will bother Kravitz much, but locating the offending loo might be tricky - his £5m home does have eight, after all.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
