Amlin has sent staff and brokers on a charity bike ride with former England Rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio

Amlin staff and brokers have joined Lawrence Dallaglio on the The Dallaglio Cycle Slam, a 2800km cycle ride calling at all the Six Nations stadia.

The next stage is due to arrive at Twickenham on Friday for this Saturday’s England versus Ireland RBS Six Nations game.

The route, Rome, Stade de France, Twickenham, Cardiff, Dublin and Edinburgh, saw riders leave Rome on 12th February in some of the worst weather conditions the city has seen for 25 years - with heavy snow forcing the cyclists to abandon their bikes 50 kilometers into the leg.

Amlin, an event sponsor, has sent staff and broker contacts to accompany Dallaglio on each day of the challenge.

Richard Ohlson, head of broker relationships at Amlin, said: "We arrived at the Stade de France yesterday (February 22). We had a wonderful cycle in beautiful weather through the Loire Valley, although we had to pick up the pace for a frantic dash to get to Paris before nightfall for a group picture in front of the Eiffel Tower.

"It has been a great team bonding experience and Lawrence has remained upbeat and full of enthusiasm – keeping us all going. Now that it is starting to drizzle in Paris I am more than happy to pass on the baton to Andrew Wright (head of marine at Amlin London) for the next leg heading to the UK."

Dallaglio added: “2,800km sounds like a crazy distance to do on a bike, but it’s a challenge I’ve set myself to raise funds for Sport Relief and the Dallaglio Foundation.”
