LV= has bolstered its fraud team with the appointment of former insurance Fraud Bureau investigator Linda Rees.

Before joining LV=’s fraud team last month, Rees was a case strategy and development manager at the IFB where she was responsible for the day-to-day management of industry-wide fraud investigations and the main point of contact for law enforcement and IFB customers on all live operations.

Prior to this, she worked for several other insurers including RBS, Groupama and AXA.

Rees will join LV=’s growing fraud prevention team and has been recruited to develop and implement the fraud strategy, intelligence and investigations for organised crime. She will report to Ursula Coulibaly, head of financial crime operations.

Coulibaly, said: “There has been a marked increase in financial crime since the beginning of the economic downturn and we have been strengthening our fraud prevention team to combat this. Linda is a welcome addition to the team and her experience and knowledge from the Insurance Fraud Bureau will be particularly valuable driving the LV= organised fraud strategy.”
