Chubb Europe has added new cover to the annual travel insurance for its Masterpiece clients.

Masterpiece, Chubb's insurance for fine homes and possessions, already covers luggage and personal effects worldwide.

The new covers include overseas medical and emergency repatriation expenses up to £10m – one of the highest limits available.

Cancellation and curtailment cover has been extended to cover for the closure of a ski resort due to avalanche.

The Ski Pack benefit, which covers the value of any ski pass, hire equipment and tuition not used due to illness or accident, is now payable for a maximum of four weeks instead of the previous three, and Piste Closure will now cover excessive snow.

Travel expenses have increased from £10,000 to £25,000 and cover has been extended to cover pre-booked flights within the UK.

Chubb Europe spokesman John Sims claimed the new cover was a market leader, providing very high limits with few conditions.

It will cost £90 plus insurance premium tax (IPT) or £120 plus IPT for winter sports coverage.

Masterpiece, designed for affluent clients, has 50,000 policyholders in Europe and more than 750,000 worldwide.
