Safeonline, the digital risk specialist, has launched CoverPoint, which allows intermediaries to bind risks online.

"We want to make life easier for brokers and help them to reduce their paperwork," said Safeonline's vice president Europe Stuart McMillan.

"Not only does CoverPoint put the broker in complete control of the products they sell, but it also allows them to increase their revenues with minimum time overhead."

A spokeswoman said the product provides interactive tools.

Broker Shawn Biles of Perkins Slade said he found CoverPoint "very straight-forward".

He said: "It will speed up the time traditionally taken waiting for an insurer to come back with a quote and issue documentation."

Policies available online include SafeEmail, which protects businesses against the growing financial liabilities created by email use.

It also includes SafeData, which is claimed to protect against the loss of vital electronically-held information.

SafeBusiness, which provides complete coverage for the new risks associated with computers and email.

These products are underwritten by ACE Global Markets.
