Take pity on Backchat's chum at United Insurance Brokers (UIB), Nick Vine, the head of the aviation division. A press release that came into the office announcing that Vine's career had taken off, and that he had become a board director, led Insurance Times to assume he had relinquished his aviation job. In fact he had retained it and taken on the board job as well.
Even the supersonic Vine could not keep up with the calls into his office from his contacts within the industry asking who was filling his shoes on the aviation desk. Backchat is happy to report that Vine's feet are firmly on the ground and tucked under the aviation desk as usual.
