Ten members for Willis N2

Willis N2, a network for brokers with annual gross written premium of £1m to £2.5m, has signed up 10 members in its first six months. Mark Radburn, the network’s managing director, said he expected the numbers to increase. “It takes people time to understand what we are offering.”

Amlin plans syndicate

Amlin is planning to turn to private investors to help fund the creation of a new syndicate. The Lloyd’s insurer is hoping the prospect of better returns will lure Names back into investing. Amlin believes hurricanes Gustav and Ike, combined with the economic turmoil, are likely to push up premiums.

Williams to Heath Lambert

Heath Lambert has appointed Paul Williams as executive director of its real estate team. Williams joins from Jardine Lloyd Thompson.

AIG sells private bank

AIG’s asset disposal programme continued this week with the sale of AIG Private Bank to Aabar Investments, an investment company based in Abu Dhabi. Aabar Investments is listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.
