WBBS deal for RSA

RSA has struck a deal with West Bromwich Building Society to become the sole provider of its buildings and contents insurance policies. The insurer will start accepting new business on 1 October and the new WBBS product will be sold via RSA's Stargate home insurance platform.

New chief at Cobra

Cobra has appointed David Stanley as its new chief operations officer, working alongside chief executive Steve Burrows and financial director Hannah Poulton. Stanley has been working with Cobra for the past year as temporary financial director. He has previous experience working with AIM-listed companies. Burrows said: “[David’s] appointment will make an immense difference to the future success of the Cobra group.”

Autofocus in High Court

Accident Exchange is alleging £22m claims could have been affected by failings at Autofocus. The credit hire operator has now started legal action at the High Court against Autofocus, a firm that supplies replacement vehicle hire rates to insurers, accusing the firm of pushing down hire rates by submitting false information. Autofocus has denied the claims.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
