‘Analytics only create value when they inform what a client does next,’ says global risk consulting leader

Aon has launched two new diagnostic tools designed to help organisations assess property and casualty exposures and identify where action should be prioritised.

The property risk diagnostic and casualty risk diagnostic will give risk and finance leaders data-driven insights into exposures, resilience and insurance strategy, according to the global professional services firm.

Christian Hoffman, chief executive of commercial risk at Aon, said clients were increasingly asking not only what their risks were, but “what to do about it and what it is worth”.

The property risk diagnostic, delivered by Aon global risk consulting risk engineers, combines modelled and historic loss estimates across natural catastrophe and day-to-day property risks.

This allows clients to compare sites and hazards, assess resilience options and identify which locations and perils are driving expected loss and volatility.

The tool also includes a scenario function allowing clients to compare potential resilience measures and assess their impact and payback.

Linking claims to cost

Aon’s casualty risk diagnostic analyses claims data across auto liability, generally liability and workers’ compensation alongside the broker’s proprietary benchmarking database.

The tool provides quarterly, interactive insights allowing clients to identity loss drivers, compare performance against anonymised peer groups and track progress against cost and performance targets.

It also includes a savings calculator designed to quantify the potential return on investment from mitigation measures.

The casualty tool is initially available to clients in North America, with broader international availability planned for 2027.

Richard Waterer, Aon’s global risk consulting leader, said: “Analytics only create value when they inform what a client does next.”

He added that both diagnostics were “consulting-led by design”, with consultants helping clients interpret data and translate findings into mitigation strategies and risk transfer or retention decisions.

The launch follows Aon’s investment in data, analytics and technology-enabled capabilities, including its AI Risk Diagnostic, launched in July 2026, as well as its Broker Copilot, Claims Copilot and Risk Analysers tools.
