‘This partnership reflects our commitment to providing exceptional value and support to brokers, helping them navigate the evolving needs of their clients,’ says UK marketing director
Biba has welcomed Markel as an official partner.
Markel was previously an associate and affiliate at the trade body, which now has 25 partners as a result of this new deal.
The insurer will also be sponsoring and exhibiting at the Biba conference, taking place on 14-15 May in Manchester.
Simon Johnston, Markel’s UK marketing director, said: “We are proud to partner with Biba, an influential industry body that plays a vital role in supporting brokers across the UK.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to providing exceptional value and support to brokers, helping them navigate the evolving needs of their clients. Together, we aim to enhance the resources available to brokers, ensuring they continue to thrive in a rapidly changing market.”
‘Valued supporter’
Markel also hosted the Biba Conference theme launch event at its London office in December last year, where the 2025 conference theme, “A New Era”, was unveiled.

Graeme Trudgill, Biba chief executive, said: “Markel has been a valued supporter of Biba for many years, so formalising our collaboration as an official partner is a natural next step.
”Our members already benefit from the Biba facility, provided by Markel, that includes a 24/7 business and legal helpline, a tax and VAT helpline and access to Markel’s Business Hub – all invaluable resources for our members. We are excited to explore new opportunities to further strengthen our partnership.”
