’London leads the world when it comes to globally traded risks, there is no greater concentration of insurance expertise in any city,’ says Lady Mayor
The City of London Corporation has announced the launch of its inaugural Global Risk Summit.

The summit, which will take place in London on 12 May 2026, will bring together leaders from business and government to examine how the London market can help organisations manage the most pressing risks facing the global economy.
It comes as artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes industries, geopolitical tensions fragment markets and more frequent and extreme weather events increase costs and uncertainty for businesses worldwide.
More than 30 speakers and sponsors from government and organisations have already confirmed their participation at the summit, with further announcements expected in due course.
‘Regular fixture’
Lady Mayor of the City of London Corporation, Dame Susan Langley, said: “London leads the world when it comes to globally traded risks, there is no greater concentration of insurance expertise in any city.

”The Global Risk Summit is designed to convene leaders from businesses and industry to share that insight. Our ambition is this becomes a regular fixture on the global risk calendar, because there is simply no better place to hold it.”
The summit will serve as the centrepiece of the very first London Risk Week, taking place from 11 to 15 May 2026.
Driven by the London Market Group, a trade body for London’s specialty (re)insurance sector, Risk Week brings together industry leaders, policymakers and innovators to strengthen collaboration and reinforce London’s position as the world’s leading centre for risk management.
