’These appointments demonstrate the strength of talent we have within Ecclesiastical,’ says managing director
Ecclesiastical Insurance has made several senior leadership appointments within its UK general insurance business.
Among the moves include Helen Richards being appointed group organisational resilience director.
She joined Ecclesiastical as a graduate trainee in 2007 and has held leadership roles across underwriting, customer service and operations. She most recently served as church operations director.
As a result of this move, Jeremy Trott will succeed Richards as church operations director.
He joined Ecclesiastical as claims director in 2020, leading the claims function over the past five and a half years.
He will work closely with Benefact Group church relationship director, Michael Angell, in his new role.
Finally, with Trott being promoted, Andrew Henner has been appointed interim claims director. Henner joined Ecclesiastical in 2017 and currently serves as head of technical claims for property and liability.

Richard Coleman, managing director for UK general insurance, said “these appointments demonstrate the strength of talent we have within Ecclesiastical”.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
