’I look forward to assisting the team as they work to deliver on their future strategic plans,’ says appointee

Former Aviva group chief executive Andrew Moss has joined the board of Brown and Brown Europe.

Moss served as Aviva’s top boss from 2007 to 2012 after holding the roles of finance director and chief financial officer at the insurer.

After leaving the firm in 2012, he became the chairman of Kentro Capital, the parent company of Xenia Broking and Nexus Underwriting.

Kentro Capital and its subsidiaries were acquired by Brown and Brown in October 2023.

Mike Bruce, chief executive of Brown and Brown Europe, said: “I am delighted that Andrew is joining our board and bringing his extensive experience to bear on Brown and Brown’s ambitions to grow, enhance and expand its business in Europe.

“I look forward to working with him.”

Acquisition

Following the acquisition of Kentro Capital, the firm became part of Brown and Brown Europe, which rebranded from Global Risk Partners (GRP) last year (11 September 2023).

Brown and Brown acquired the firm, when it was known as GRP, in July 2022 as it looked to establish itself as a major force in the UK retail insurance market.

Moss said: “Brown and Brown has a compelling vision for its European business.

“It has good businesses, some great people and the ability to invest in further growth.

“I look forward to assisting the team as they work to deliver on their future strategic plans.”
