There is one big question for managers this week – should you keep or sell Chelsea’s Joao Pedro?

The striker, who is owned by more than 74% of managers, withdrew from the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break.

However, it is unclear what, if any, injury Pedro has. This is because Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso did not rule him out of tonight’s match against Brentford.

He said: ”We will see tomorrow if Joao is ready to play, it’s a possibility.”

What should you do?

Plenty of managers in the Insurance Times Fantasy Football league own Pedro, including leader Jamie Fletcher and second placed Ben Iwanowytsch.

The reason Pedro is so popular in Fantasy Football is because of his strong form so far this season, with him scoring three goals and supplying three assists.

And at 7.8m, he is affordable to managers this season. But if he is injured, what should managers do?

Well, one thing to note is that after this week there is a three-week break before the Premier League returns in October, giving Pedro plenty of time to recover from any potential issue.

So, in my opinion, selling right now may not be the best move. And in terms of tonight’s match, one play could be to start Pedro, but have a good back up option as your first choice on the bench.

That way, if Pedro does not play, he will get subbed out for that player.
