The new appointee will replace incumbent David Hopwood in the new year

Global Risk Partners (GRP) has appointed its commercial director of retail, Chris Haggart, to the position of chief executive of its broker network, Hedron Network.

Haggart will take over the role from current chief executive David Hopwood, who will remain part of the leadership team at the network. 

The new appointee will take up his role in the new year and will report to GRP chief executive Mike Bruce. 

Bruce said: “Haggart is a hugely talented executive and is ideallly suited to take on this senior role. 

“He has plenty of commercial nous, experience helping to build our retail broking business and good working relationships with GRP’s insurer partners - an ideal grounding to lead the further development of the Hedron proposition.” 

Bruce added that Hedron was a “core part” of GRP’s business and had performed well since it was acquired in 2021 - he said that this appointment was a commitment to “further grow its market presence”. 

The broker network provides a suite of services to brokers, including tailored growth planning, succession and exit planning. 

Power of networks 

Commenting on his appointment, Haggart said: “I’m a firm believer in the power of networks and the value they add to broker members, partner insurers and suppliers.
