Aviva hit the headlines this week following the launch of a new MGA hybrid fronting proposition through its Global Corporate and Specialty (GCS) division.

The insurer said the new proposition combines fronting capabilities with risk retention, providing MGAs with access to Aviva’s underwriting expertise, financial strength and international network.

This week’s second-most read news story followed the revelation of a change in underwriting appetite at Swiss Re. 

The insurer said that it has “zero” appetite for underwriting new liability business, particularly in the US, because of escalating legal system abuse.
