Why did you put yourselves forward for the category?

David King, co-founder and co-chief executive at Artificial Labs

Too much manual work still sits between appetite and placement. Brokers and carriers are often working through manual follow-up, fragmented information and disconnected processes when they should be focused on the next deal. Artificial was built to remove that friction, making it easier to co-ordinate capacity and move complex placements forward.

We entered this category because it recognises technology that is making a practical difference to the way insurance works. That is the standard we set for ourselves and it’s where we’ve focused our efforts from the start.

What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?

Artificial started with the realities of how insurance works, not starting with the tech. We call our position “The Power Between” – the infrastructure between appetite and placement, broker and carrier, expertise and outcome.

Our role is not to replace underwriting judgement, but to clear the rekeying, delays and disconnected processes that hold it back. That approach is delivering measurable results, including administrative-effort reductions of up to 80%, contract creation times cut by up to 50% and adoption of our platform of up to 90% without mandated usage.

What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?

Winning would be recognition of the approach we’ve taken from the start. We have never set out to automate expertise away. We have focused on helping brokers and carriers spend less time chasing information or rekeying data and more time making decisions and placing business.

An Insurance Times award would be a strong endorsement of that thinking and of the clients who have trusted us to put it into practice. We would be proud to see their success recognised alongside our own.
